Approach

Humanistic & holistic

We are all on our own paths, and have the capacity to grow and create our best, most authentic lives. We are complex humans, made up of mind, body and spirit, influencing how we connect with ourselves and the world.

Depathologising & trauma informed

Our lived experience, and societal factors outside of our control, shape our identity and impact how we move through the world. We are not problems to be fixed, and healing is an ongoing process.

Person-centred

We all have unique stories and insights. You are the expert in your life, and deserve compassion, understanding and autonomy.

  • There are no expectations for how often we meet, or how long we work together. Some people have one-off sessions, others twice a month, some a few times a year. It is up to you, your situation and circumstances, and we can check-in on this together.

I became a counsellor in 2019, and have since worked in disability, youth, alcohol and other drugs, with older adults, refugees and incarcerated people. My counselling education was built upon person-centred therapy, and modalities learned include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I have done professional development in several other areas, and am committed to ongoing learning. I use an integrative approach, meaning I am present with you in session, and we figure it out together. I am registered with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) and adhere to the code of ethical practice.

While professional experience has value, my lived experience with mental health is the foundation for how I work, and why I do this. I know the value of being seen, heard and met without judgment by a real person. We are bound by oppressive systems and power structures and I don’t aim to create another one. This space is collaborative, respectful and shaped by your voice.

I am queer and trans and primarily work with LGBTQIA+ clients, but my practice is open to all adults seeking inclusive, compassionate support. I can work with you on a variety of topics including sexuality/gender, depression, life changes/transition, neurodiversity, chronic illness, relationships and grief/loss. Finding the right therapist can be hard - don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I would be a good fit for you.
